This is a temple visited by His Holiness Sri Kanchi Seer every day then.  As Kalahasthi near Tirupathi, this south Kalahasthi temple stands near Lord Uppiliappan temple.  Besides a Navagraha shrine for all nine planets, there is one exclusively for Rahu the serpent planet.  As mother Durga is the authority on Rahu planet, there is huge Durga idol in the temple with 18 hands praised as Ashtadasa (18 handed) Mahalakshmi Durga.  Lord Vinayaka and Lord Muruga grace at the Rajagopuram entrance.

Devotees pray here for relief from critical and prolonged diseases.

Lord Jura Deva has shrines in many Shiva temples in the state.   But the Lord in this temple is distinct with three legs, two on the ground and one folded.  As illnesses occur due to three problems in bones, veins and skin, it is said that Lord Juradeva has three legs to protect the sick devotees.   Abhishek to Lord is performed with hot water.  Lord Shivasurya is facing west.  Beautiful idols can be seen in Lord Nataraja Shrine with Mother Sivakami.  Saint Manickavasaga has is shrine nearby.  This is one of Mahamaha Theerthavari temples in Kumbakonam.

Once, a contest arose between Adisesha the divine serpent and Vayudeva about their physical strength.  Adisesha coiled around the mount and Vayudeva applied strong winds.  In the contest, three peaks of Meru gave in and fell in three places in the south, Kalahasthi, Tiruchirapalli and Triconamala and Lord Shiva occupied these three holy places.

As Kumbakonam is famous for Theertha reputation, He graced this place also with His presence.

As Kalahasthi is the place for relief from Doshas caused by Rahu planet, so is the Lord of this temple too.  The temple was built by Sarfoji Maharaja of Thnjavur for the convenience of Kachi Peetathipathy then.  Praying to Mother Pralambikai in this temple is equal to praying at Andhra Kalahasthi.
